Tarmo (Do Day's Neville): EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency)

Tarmo has had problems with his digestion since his was a puppy and now the reason was finally found. The diagnosis was exocrine pancreatic insufficiency which is an autoimmune disease. The atrophied pancreas is not able to secrete digestive entzymes which are necessary for the absorption of nutrients. EPI cannot be cured. It is treated with diet and enzyme supplements, some dogs need also vitamin B12 (cobalamin) injections. The costs of the treatment are often very high. About 20 % of the dogs suffering from EPI are euthanized because of a poor response to the treatment. - We are sad of Tarmo's situation.

Tarmo's breeders have been informed.

Tarmo (Do Day's Neville): Left eye clear, right eye GRD

Ophthalmologist Per Axelson found unfortunately GRD (geographic retinal dysplasia) in Tarmo's right eye. GRD is an inherited disease which causes some degree of visual impairment. According to Axelson Tarmo will manage with his sick eye without being blind.

Tarmo will not be used in breeding.

Elsa 15 years

Our charming old lady Elsa (B. One And Only) celebrates her birthday 12.07.2016! The happy and alert Elsa has been healthy and she is still going strong and enjoying her life. She sleeps a lot and her hearing has gone down but her sight and sense of smell are good. Elsa takes part in walks with our other dogs without any problems even if she is the oldest. She manages well the stairs up and down but needs help to get into the car. When the mealtime is getting closer the old lady is already sitting in the kitchen and waiting for her food.

Congratulations to our dear senior Elsa!

We got sad news that Emma (B. Flamenco) had gone to the Rainbow Bridge. The old lady was already very tired and it was time to let her go. Now all the littermates in the Dance litter are together again. Our sympathy to Emma's family.
